My recent trip to New York found that staying in Soho was the perfect location, great shops, great restaurants and FAB people.

I visited with my hubby and two teenage daughters celebrating a big birthday for him and our eldest (two April fools!)

Of course visiting the shopping started almost as soon as we touched down!

I thought I would fall in love with shopping in NY but the main thing thats lacks is their vey own street style…… the one thing that London exudes!

I looked long and hard for the individual boutiques that London’s Brick Lane does so well but what I came across time and time again were the mass of chain stores found in every high street across the world.

The girls bought lots from Brandy and Melville – inexpensive, young and very cute fashion.

If anyone knows of any secret gems I would love to know. It still didnt stop me falling in love with NYC all over again!

And what impressed me more than anything was how incredibly nice everyone was – I hope our tourists leave London with the same impression!
